The supply chain functionality in SAP Business ByDesign includes both demand forecast calculation and production and procurement planning and execution. Multi-level production and the necessary management of warehouse processes, as well as the planning of production resources, taking into account their capacity, are supported.

Logistics processes in warehouses can be optimized using ready-made solutions for working with mobile devices – barcode scanners, but a number of tools based on economic theories – standard, actual and full cost, overhead costs, etc. – are available for calculating the production cost.

Sales and customer management

Customer relationship management (CRM) features are not limited to a structured sales process from first contact to order, but are also integrated into order fulfillment and after-sales service processes.

You have access to a full customer communication history, easily integrated with Microsoft Outlook, as well as tools such as opportunity pipeline and sales plan execution control.

For manufacturing companies, system notifications about changes in production plans that may affect the fulfillment of customer orders are especially useful.

Procurement and supplier management

In addition to standard procurement documents, SAP Business ByDesign also includes price surveys and procurement tenders (sourcing), as well as the functionality of supplier contract terms and execution records, as well as employee shopping carts.

The wide range of analysis options helps to optimize procurement and agree on more favorable procurement conditions, while integrated quality control functions are particularly useful for manufacturing companies, ensuring both traceability of raw materials and quality analysis of suppliers.

Project management and cost accounting

SAP Business ByDesign offers perhaps the widest project management functionality among ERP solutions available on the market. Projects can be planned in both time and resource dimensions, and within the framework of the ERP solution, full integration with financial accounting, procurement and warehouse processes is ensured.

Service companies are provided with such functions as automated preparation of quotes and invoices for customers, as well as a full and accurate calculation of the cost price of the project. Also, if you do not provide professional services, project functionality is a great tool for planning internal projects and calculating the cost price, for example, for developing new products, marketing campaigns or mastering new markets.

Service

SAP Business ByDesign supports the service process both in case the service is provided in the company’s service centers, as well as in customer outings. Full service cycle accounting is provided – service application, service order and planning of the necessary resources, process of acceptance and return of goods, as well as integration with warehouse and procurement processes.

Both potentially serviced service objects and customer contracts stipulating the services, service levels and prices available to customers shall be registered in the system.

It is especially convenient to plan the off-site service using a specially designed mobile application.

Real-time analytics

The system includes a number of standard analytical reports and KPIs, and analytics are freely adaptable and created without programming tools.

As a user, you can create KPI indicators of interest to you and follow them on the system home page or mobile application, with the ability to easily analyze data in SAP or MS Excel environment.

Analytics and KPIs are always available in real time, powered by the SAP HANA analytical platform. But for strategic analysis, the SAP Analytics Cloud solution can be easily added, which will also open up opportunities for forecasting and modeling business scenarios.

Organization structure

SAP Business ByDesign is perfect for both a single company with a simple structure and an international group of companies.

The structure includes both all enterprises, as well as the structural units of each enterprise and their divisions, as well as profit and cost centers, which are used for financial analysis.

According to the country of residence of each company, the localization functions of the system are also activated, providing the functionality of localization of all the necessary countries in a single solution.
